Only batteries designed for repeated cycling ( the partial discharge of a battery and then recharging it to full charge) are suitable for use in a solar system. Cycling, in a solar system, occurs during nights, when the battery is discharged without any solar charge getting into it. During the day, solar modules charge the batteries again.
